The Scuba Base offers a variety of different dives to suit everybody from wreck dives for the demanding as well as shallow cave dives for the novices. Our 40 feet SCUBA PRINCESS boat leaves the harbour every morning at 9 a.m. for two boat dives at Cape Greco and returns around 1.30 p.m.
Every Tuesday and Friday we organize a trip to the wreck ZENOBIA with our boat, weather permitting. It's a pleasant trip which takes one hour to get there, and we do two dives with a nice lunch break during the surface interval. |
The marine life around Cyprus is varied due to the fact that we have a lot of seasonal fish. The most common fish includes grouper, silver fish, sea bream, dentex, pantora, parrotfish, red mullet, cardinal fish, moray eels, octopus and quite often tunas, barracudas and turtles.
The crystal clear waters all year around offers an incredible visibility which can reach 50 meters. The temperature can be as low as 17 degrees Celsius (60F) in January up to 30 degrees Celsius (85F) at the end of October. That makes Cyprus the ideal place for Scuba Diving all year around. |
The fact is that there are no currents or high tides in combination with the excellent temperatures makes Cyprus a perfect place for those who want to learn to dive, as well as for those who are already qualified. There is a variety of different types of diving such as modern shipwrecks as well as old remains from wrecks dated several hundreds of years ago, and reefs, underwater caves, and a lot more to see.
There are no special regulations regarding diving on Cyprus apart from some special locations which are forbidden to dive because of archeological reasons. The school provides all the necessary permissions required for the different locations. |
